Two families affected by coronavirus travel restrictions describe what it was like to be going through a pandemic thousands of miles away, and their long journeys to get home to the United States.


First, 15-year-old Chloe Woody was visiting family in Italy when the pandemic hit. For a month, her mother worked tirelessly to get her daughter home.

Second, Frank and Cindy Crawford boarded a cruise in late February to celebrate their wedding anniversary. About 10 days into the cruise, they realized how bad the pandemic would affect their trip, and the boat wasn't allowed to dock in Chile as planned.
