Causes of Rollover Accidents
Rollover accidents can be single-vehicle accidents or multi-vehicle collisions. In either case, rollovers can occur when a driver loses control of his or her vehicle and/or engages in a risky driving maneuver while behind the wheel. If you are involved in a rollover motor vehicle accident and suffer one or more injuries, you may be able to assert a claim against the responsible vehicle driver. If the accident was caused by the driver of another vehicle, you may be able to assert a claim against that individual.
The Chicago car accident lawyers at Malman Law can investigate how your rollover accident occurred and determine who likely caused the accident. Our legal team could then help you file the appropriate claim or lawsuit to pursue monetary compensation for the injuries you suffered in your accident. Call us today at (312) 629-0099 or contact us online to learn more about how we could assist you with bringing a claim or lawsuit against all potentially responsible parties in your personal injury case.

How Rollover Accidents Commonly Occur
Rollover motor vehicle accidents can occur in many different ways. Some of the most common causes of rollover accidents include the following:
Losing control of the vehicle – When a driver loses control of his or her vehicle, the driver could collide with another vehicle – or even a stationary object – causing the vehicle (or someone else’s vehicle) to overturn. The forward momentum is sometimes enough to cause a vehicle to turn over onto its top or side. A driver might lose control of a vehicle when he or she engages in distracted driving, such as by texting or making phone calls while driving, or by falling asleep while driving.
Risky driving maneuvers – When a motor vehicle operator engages in risky driving maneuvers, a vehicle overturn could occur. Risky maneuvers include grossly exceeding the posted speed limit, taking tight turns, or swerving in and out of traffic while driving at a high rate of speed. Quick driving maneuvers could result in friction between the road surface and the vehicle tires, causing the vehicle to either flip over or tilt on its side.
Crashes that involve more than one vehicle – Although some rollover accidents only involve a single vehicle, others are multi-vehicle accidents. A multi-vehicle rollover accident could occur when a vehicle sustains a side-impact collision and is pushed over, due to the momentum caused by the oncoming vehicle. Moreover, when one vehicle strikes another vehicle, that second vehicle could strike a guardrail or some other stationary object in the road, creating a “ramp” and leading to a vehicle rollover.
