Help Us End Distracted Driving

Help Us End Distracted Driving

I am a board member of the Casey Feldman Foundation and wanted to reach out to you with an opportunity to help keep your employees and their families safe from distracted driving. Despite many national campaigns, distracted driving seems to be as prevalent as ever. We have about the same number of crashes and deaths caused by distracted driving today as we have had over the last 10 years.

The Casey Feldman Foundation was created by the parents of Casey Feldman, who was killed by a distracted driver in 2009. She was 21 years old and walking in a crosswalk on a beautiful summer day when a distracted driver took his eyes off the road and rolled through a stop sign, hitting her. He said he never saw her. (End Distracted Driving) is a campaign of the Casey Feldman Foundation. is one of the best websites for distracted driving prevention and offers great resources without charge.

Since 2010, Casey’s father, Joel Feldman, has been speaking across the country at schools, medical, legal and traffic safety conferences and at a wide variety of businesses. Joel has been a practicing attorney in Philadelphia for more than 35 years, and after Casey’s death obtained a Masters in Counseling.  He is one of the best distracted driving speakers in the country.  He has personally spoken with nearly 200,000 students and adults in about 800 presentations. Having Joel speak virtually to your employees will change the way they look at distracted driving, change their driving behaviors and help them keep their loved ones, spouses and children, safe from distracted driving.

Joel readily admits that he often drove distracted before Casey’s death, despite having legally represented families whose loved ones were killed by distracted drivers.

His talks are science-based and developed with the help of researchers, behavior change experts and traffic safety experts, are non-confrontational, and connect with audiences on a number of levels in order to maximize the opportunities for behavior change. The talks are not depressing, contain nothing bloody or overly graphic, and leave audiences empowered to change their driving behaviors and the behaviors of those they care about.

“[O]ver my career, I have had the luxury of hearing speakers talk all over the US and some very good speakers, but your presentation was extremely impactful and eye-opening to me. It was truly one of the best – if not the best – presentations I have been able to listen to. Instead of looking for things to apply to our safety culture and learn from, it made me want to do better as an individual in everyday life, and truly become a better driver, a safer driver.” – Director of Safety, A Midwestern Utility Company

In addition to doing presentations, has created a number of PSA’s that are used across the country by many in traffic safety.’s newest project is the development of distracted driving lesson plans for 2-3, 4-5 and 6th grade students.  Students are taught to recognize when mom and dad are driving distracted and how to respectfully speak up and ask mom and dad to put their phones down while driving. By starting to teach kids long before they get their licenses, our goal is to create a generation of drivers who will not drive distracted. The US DOT has recognized this program as the first of its kind in the US and is evaluating its effectiveness.

In exchange for Joel’s presentation, we request that you make a donation in an amount of your choosing to the Casey Feldman Foundation, a 501(c)(3), so we can keep offering resources without cost to schools across the country.

Thank you for your continued support.
